NiuRoot LLC is a software company in Saratoga, California. We build AI assistants that handle the routine work of running a household, so that people spend their attention on their lives instead of on their bills, their accounts and their to-do lists.

What we are building

Everyday life is full of small jobs nobody enjoys: reading a utility bill, noticing that a promotion is about to end, working out whether a different rate plan would cost less, remembering when the property tax is due, finding why the water meter turns at night. Each one is simple on its own. Together they take hours a month, and most of them never get done.

Our assistants do these jobs the way a careful family member would: they read the accounts the household already has, do the arithmetic exactly, and say in plain language what is worth doing, with the evidence a tap away. They never guess at a number, and they ask the family a question instead of assuming an answer. More about the company →

homeops private beta

Our first product. homeops connects to the accounts a household already has, reads the meters every day, and does the arithmetic:

• What the latest day cost, by utility, against what is usual for this home.
• Which electricity rate plan is actually cheaper on this household's own hours of use.
• Water running at night, a load that never switches off, a lawn watered as if it were still June.
• Every bill that is coming, with the amount estimated ahead of time and checked when it lands.
• What each change the family makes really saved, measured from the meter, not estimated.
